Freshman Academic Summer Transition (FAST)
Program 2008

The FAST Program has been designed by our Professional Academic Advisement Team to facilitate your transition from high school to Duquesne University. While this program is not mandatory, it is recommended for new students, especially those in the local Pittsburgh area.

You will have an opportunity to:

  • Share information with Support Services Professionals: Ask questions about... University health requirements, financial aid, tuition deferment, safety and security, student activities and MORE
  • Take Placement Exams:
    • Education Majors working on Math Certification will have an opportunity to take required math Placement Exams
    • Students in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts and School of Education Majors working on Spanish Certification can arrange to take required language placement exams
  • Attend special interest information sessions by:
    • Computer and Technology Services
    • Residence Life
    • Commuter Affairs
    • Orientation Staff
  • Have your ID picture taken
  • Open your personal checking/banking account through the campus branch of PNC
  • Attend the Technology Expo sponsored by the Computer Store. Industry professionals available for consultation and back to school shopping.
  • Visit the University Bookstore to discuss required textbooks for Fall
